    Abstract PDF
    1. Objectives This paper was written in order to understand prescription's combination of Taeumin. 2. Methods We analysis prescription's combination of Taeumin through pathology and new prescription in Sinchukbon(辛丑本) of Dongyisusebowon. 3. Results and Conclusions New prescription of Taeumin is combined with a few specific prescription. We analysis new prescription of the exterior disease and get the basic prescription that is Chobonkwon Taeummahwang-tang(太陰麻黃湯), Chobonkwon Saengmac-san(生脈散) and Gunyul․Euiin․Nabokja(乾栗․薏苡仁․蘿葍子). And we analysis new prescription of the interior disease and get the basic prescription that is Jojung-tang(調中湯), Galgunhagi-tang(葛根解肌湯) and Isunggugo-hwan(二聖救苦丸) of old prescription. However, pharmacology of Eumhyulmogal is different from the other symptom and disease. That contain the pharmacology of Chungsimyunja-tang(淸心蓮子湯). We can't find Chungsimyunja-tang from the discussion of symptom and disease. So we can estimate that Chungsimyunja-tang belongs to the prescription of Eumhyulmogal.

    Literature Investigation of Jejo

    조남경 , 김종덕 | 2007, 19(2) | pp.11~21 | number of Cited : 1
    Abstract PDF
    1. Objectives The object of this thesis is to find the basis on why Jejo(蠐螬) was assigned as a Taeumin medicine, and to understand Taeumin edema. 2. Methods Dongyisusebowon ‘Shinchukbon’, ‘Gabobon’, ‘Chobonkwun’, other related Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM) books, herbal medicine books such as Bonchokangmok, and etc. were compared and researched. 3. Results & Conclusions (1) In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, edema is seen as a critical condition. The first cause of edema in Taeumin is fatigue, a condition where the flow of Qi and Fluid Qi is stagnated. Secondly, edema is caused as Taeeumin is mentally stressed(勞心焦思) and he/she is unable to accomplish his/her plans over many trials or as when they find pleasure in striving for greed. When Lungs which is Incline & Small Viscera(偏小之臟) in Taeumin decreases, it diminishes Real Count of Longevity(命脈實數) which leads to edema formation. (2) Perspective of Human Nature & Character(心性學) and Regimen(養生法) became included gradually in the treatment methods and prescription of edema in Taeumin as Dongyisusebowon was revised over time. The revisions also lead to more diversity in prescriptions. (3) Jejo didn't appear in Dongyisusebowon ‘Chobonkwun’ and ‘Gabobon’. It was first presented in ‘Shinchukbon’ as a medicine to treat edema in Taeumin. (4) Jejo have effects of easing clumps. Also it has a strong radiating ability(發散力) which induces perspiration to treat diseases. Finally Jejo is used to remove Takki(濁氣) by utilizing powerful Exhale Gathering Qi contained in it.

    Abstract PDF
    1. Backgrounds and Aims Human being is divided into 4 constitution types(Taeyangin, Soyangin, Taeumin, and Soumin). According to Sasang Constitutional Medicine[SCM] Each constitution has its own incidence, treatment and prevention of disease. The purpose of this study is to find the relation of dietary habits, life styles and Psychosocial stress with obesity in each Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods 975 subjects who have received health examinations and diagnosis of Sasang Constitution at Kyung-hee Medical Center were divided into each constitutional group. Each constitutional group was then divided into obese group and normal group. We evaluated risk factors of obesity such as dietary habits, life styles, and Psychosocial stress. These data were statistically analysed to investigate the relations between risk factors and obesity. And then significant factors were analysed by multinomial logistic regression analysis to get each odds ratio. 3. Results In a multinomial logistic regression analysis adjusted for age and sex, promotion of appetite and overeating or excessive diet elevated risks of obesity in Taeumin, promotion of appetite and high speed of diet elevated risks of obesity in Soyangin, and Psychosocial stress elevated risks of obesity in Soeumin. 4. Conclusions The results suggest that promotion of appetite and overeating or excessive diet may be major risk factors for obesity in Taeumin, promotion of appetite and high speed of diet in Soyangin and Psychosocial stress and dyschezia in Soeumin.
