Studies on CSL students’ Chinese idiom errors seldom focus on a certain type ofgrammatical, semantic or pragmatic, let alone form errors. This paper proposes a newconcept “Chinese idiom form errors” to replace such misunderstanding or lack of clarityconcepts as “Chinese idiom structure errors” “overt errors”. Chinese idiom form errorsare divided into adding, omitting, substituting, disordering, blending, and wrong creating, and each have been put up with definitions and criteria in this paper. There are somewrong annotations of Chinese idiom form errors in “HSK dynamic composition corpus”and other related researches, so we should screen Chinese idiom form errors in corpuswith caution. At last, we take “爱不释手” for example, to show how to find possible formerrors of a Chinese idiom in “HSK dynamic composition corpus”.
