The feature that Chengju is a transportation hub to move easily from east to west and south to north has become a key factor in shaping regional identity. Because of the ease of traffic, the characteristics of the military strategic point were formed and it became a good place to start plot treason.
Also, the natives of Cheongju did not easily open their heart to outsiders because they stayed for a while and left. As a result, Cheongju inevitably became a difficult area for the Mokmingwan to govern.
