    이동호 | Hansol Park | 2015, 20(10) | pp.1~5 | number of Cited : 0
    Abstract PDF
Based on the dual hardware and software with distributed recovery blocks, the centralized type fault tolerant store management system(SMS) was proposed. As a result of trade off study related to mutiplex hardware system design, dual single board computer(SBC) was adapted. To verify redundancy function of the proposed structure, the prototype SMS and weapon simulator were used. The proposed SMS operated normally without being affected by a primary SBC failure. The switching time from primary SBC to shadow SBC was within 200 ms. The reliability of the proposed SMS was predicted and compared with the non fault tolerant SMS, thereby it was proved that the proposed SMS has a higher reliability than the non fault tolerant system within effective range.

    Seong Hoon Kim | Yunhe Fan | Heo Gyeongyong | 2015, 20(10) | pp.15~21 | number of Cited : 2
    Abstract PDF
In this paper, we propose a stable automatic signature verification algorithm applicable to various smart devices. The proposed algorithm uses real and forgery data all together, which can improve the verification rate dramatically. As a tool for signature acquisition in a smart device, two applications, one using touch with a finger and the other using a pressure-sensing-stylus pen, are developed. The verification core is based on SVM and some modifications are made to include the characteristics of signatures. As shown in experimental results, the minimum error rate was 1.84% in the SVM based method, which can easily defeat 4.38% error rate with the previous parametric approach. Even more, 2.43% error rate was achieved with the features excluding pressure-related features, better than the previous approach including pressure-related features and only about 0.6% more error than the best result, which means that the proposed algorithm can be applied to a smart device with or without pressure-sensing-stylus pens and used for security purposes.

Flaw Detection in Ceramics using Hough transform and Least squares

    HONG DONGJIN | CHA,EUI-YOUNG | 2015, 20(10) | pp.23~29 | number of Cited : 0
    Abstract PDF
In this paper, we suggest a method of detecting defects by applying Hough transform and least squares on ceramic images obtained from non-destructive testing. In the ceramic images obtained from non-destructive testing, the background area, where the defect does not exist, commonly show gradual change of luminosity in vertical direction. In order to extract the background area which is going to be used in the detection of defects, Hough transform is performed to rotate the ceramic image in a way that the direction of overall luminosity change lies in the vertical direction as much as possible. Least squares are then applied on the rotated image to approximate the contrast value of the background area. The extracted background area is used for extracting defects from the ceramic images. In this paper we applied this method on ceramic images acquired from non-destructive testing. It was confirmed that extracted background area could be effectively applied for searching the section where the defect exists and detecting the defect.

    Abstract PDF
In this paper, we propose the ensemble-based classification model which extracts just new data patterns from the streaming-data by using clustering and generates new classification models to be added to the ensemble in order to reduce the number of data labeling while it keeps the accuracy of the existing system. The proposed technique performs clustering of similar patterned data from streaming data. It performs the data labeling to each cluster at the point when a certain amount of data has been gathered. The proposed technique applies the K-NN technique to the classification model unit in order to keep the accuracy of the existing system while it uses a small amount of data. The proposed technique is efficient as using about 3% less data comparing with the existing technique as shown the simulation results for benchmarks, thereby using clustering.

A Music Recommendation Method Using Emotional States by Contextual Information

    김동주 | 임권묵 | 2015, 20(10) | pp.69~76 | number of Cited : 2
    Abstract PDF
User’s selection of music is largely influenced by private tastes as well as emotional states, and it is the unconsciousness projection of user’s emotion. Therefore, we think user’s emotional states to be music itself. In this paper, we try to grasp user’s emotional states from music selected by users at a specific context, and we analyze the correlation between its context and user’s emotional state. To get emotional states out of music, the proposed method extracts emotional words as the representative of music from lyrics of user-selected music through morphological analysis, and learns weights of linear classifier for each emotional features of extracted words. Regularities learned by classifier are utilized to calculate predictive weights of virtual music using weights of music chosen by other users in context similar to active user's context. Finally, we propose a method to recommend some pieces of music relative to user’s contexts and emotional states. Experimental results shows that the proposed method is more accurate than the traditional collaborative filtering method.

An MCFQ I/O Scheduler Considering Virtual Machine Bandwidth Distribution

    Jung Kyu Park | 2015, 20(10) | pp.91~97 | number of Cited : 0
    Abstract PDF
In this paper, we propose a MCFQ I/O scheduler that is implemented by modifying the existing Linux CFQ I/O scheduler. MCFQ observes whether the user requested I/O bandwidth weight is well distributed. Based on the I/O bandwidth observation, we improved I/O performance of the existing bandwidth distribution ability by dynamically controlling the I/O time-slice of the virtual machine. The use of SSDs as storage has been increasing dramatically in recent computer systems due to their fast performance and low power usage. As the usage of SSD increases and prices fall, virtualized system administrators can take advantage of SSDs. However, studies on guaranteeing SLA(Service Level Agreement) services when multiple virtual machines share the SSD is still incomplete. In this paper was conducted to improve performance of the bandwidth distribution when multiple virtual machine are sharing a single SSD storage in a virtualized environment. In particular, it was observed that the performance of the bandwidth distribution varied widely when garbage collection occurs in the SSD. In order to reduce performance variance, we add a MoTS(Manager of Time Slice) on existing CFQ I/O scheduler.

    Gil-hyun Kang | 2015, 20(10) | pp.133~140 | number of Cited : 2
    Abstract PDF
In this paper, I propose some policy and theoretical implications by analyzing moderating effects of volunteering activity in the causal relationships between social welfare major choice and their job choice. For the purpose of the goal of this study, I surveyed 242 university students in 2~4 grades majoring social welfare in Gwangju and South and North Jeolla Province. Analysis results showed that the personal motive on choosing a major affects the occupational aptitude & interests and economic feasibility of career when they choose their jobs. However, the social motive didn’t affect the occupational aptitude & interests and economic feasibility of career. It means that they didn’t choose their majors considering their aptitude & interests, but chose them by following the advice of the surrounding people. Also, moderating effects of volunteering activity was not significant, which means that volunteering period and schedules are too short and tend to be operated as a mere formality. This study suggests the policy implications so that they have the correct major selection and career options based on the analysis results
