In 1998, with the objective of maximizing the investment effectiveness for different materials and human resources between universities related to e- Learning, Korea National Open University (KNOU) formed the Korea Cyber Campus with 8 other universities. As of 2006 this Korea Cyber Campus Association (KCCA) expanded to 10 members. Concurrently with its establishment, Korea Cyber Campus Association’s priority was to develop e-learning contents to be taught to the students. The evaluation for these programs has been very positive. Students from the different universities could develop various activities, for example, questions and answers, open discussions towards given topics and report submission without any time-or-space restrictions.
Since 2003 with the new challengeable objective in the global era, KNOU has been preparing an international collaboration through e-Learning content with financial support from the Ministry of Education. Eight subjects were completed by 2005, and more path-ways towards international collaboration are being explored.
This research will analyze how KNOU has been developing the domestic collaboration activities according to scientific and technological changes as well as educational environmental trends and what their effects have been. Furthermore the future collaboration activities will be prospected, and the 8 internationalized subjects will be introduced and their collaboration methods will be discussed.
