This qualitative research was conducted to deeply understand the process of student teaching in adult literacy education with the recognition of in-service teachers who participated as coaches. Three teachers in the adult literacy educational institution in G city were selected as research participants. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the constant comparison method. The analysis derived three meaningful findings: (1) teachers recognized that student teachers needed to respect and understand the nature of adult literacy education; (2) they had opportunities to introspect their careers through the coaching experiences; and (3) they recognized that it is necessary to reform the student teaching policy to improve the effectiveness in adult literacy education. Based on the results of this study, implications for better fostering literacy teachers through student teaching were added
