he present study is a part of a larger study and investigated whether power law of practice, which has been discussed in relation to skill acquisition, applies to the acquisition of automaticity in second language development in terms of reaction time, error rate, and length of time of speech. Fourteen native speakers of English participated in fourteen computerized learning, practice, and test sessions through DMDX, MS Word, Audacity, and Cool Edit over a 5-week period to learn three Korean morphosyntactic rules. The analysis of their performance indicated that overall the acquisition of automaticity in second language development followed a power law pattern. The findings are discussed in relation to their pedagogical implications for second language learners, who often give up the acquisition of automaticity easily.
The purpose of this study is to find the effect of self-regulated learning strategy on the degree of their asynchronous online discussion satisfaction and flow. The data for this research was collected from total 63 learners. The research data is testified through simple regression analysis method. The result of this study is summarized as follows: Firstly, the self-regulated learning strategy that affects the learner's discussion satisfaction degree. Secondly, the self-regulated learning strategy that affects the learner's discussion flow degree. Based on these research results, it is suggested that the utilization of learner's self-regulated learning strategy in order to improve the discussion satisfaction and flow on the asynchronous online discussion.
The development of information communication has been occurred change of paradigm in various fields. Recently, as the 'aging society' has been being progressed so fast and it is causing the information gap between the aged and other tiers. To solve this problem, information education is needed in the elderly. In addition, information technology education could be considered as important measure which can improve life-satisfaction of the aged. Augmented reality method provides user realistic visual information and directing interface. So, augmented reality was interested in education tool which extends learning experience. But, according to the characteristics of the elderly do not have education content. Therefore, we has been developed a digital textbook, it contains a marker and education contents system to reduce information gap.
UCC is created by users, not experts and can be freely shared by other users. Most of UCC is not verified by the experts, so it easily makes the problems in privacy, violation of rights, and alteration. As the countermove of the problems, there are many acts such as CCL, UCC Guideline, the surveillance of the violation of rights in UCC sites. It is only focused on information management, but supporting the distribution channels. In this study, we developed UCC distribution metadata for supporting the issues generated during the all life cycle of UCC. It clarified the integrity, re-usuability, rights and tracking of UCC. The metadata may contribute to the development of BMs for UCC sites and the sound use for users.
Artificial Insemination(AI) has been used commonly and elevated the development of Pig industry sice 1994. Recently, the sperms offered from AI center using up to 80% of the deomestic sows, which means AI is very important in domestic Pig industry and affecting deeply to the industry of animal reproduction and breeding. However, the quality of sperm offered to the commercial farm was not controlled equally caused by each AI center doesn't have enough basic data nor use the different management methds for breeding pig and sperm production.
Social network analysis is a study on relationship between actors in network. This study focuses on examinating social structure based on relation between actors. This paper builds and analyzes networks with throughput of four national shipping companies. And then compares network characteristics and finds managerial insights. Port network structure attributes compared in this study are network centrality (degree, closeness, betweenness, eigenvector), structural hole, and network closure.
We propose a grayscale presentation method adapted with the reflective type display which has more strong points than the most emissive type display at the fabrication cost, power consumption, and easy viewing. In this study we designe cell electrodes separated with 4 electrodes, fabricated the panel with multi-electrode mask, and estimate the driving properties in charged particle type display. The linear characteristics are ascertained by reflectivity measurement using RT-200, which is induced by exact arithmetic partition for cell electrode. The results of our study is applicable to the mass production of electronic paper, if this method is combined with the pulse width modulation which is used as a grayscale presentation in charged particle type electronic paper.
Benchmarking of Ports is an important issue facing port management. Data envelopment analysis (DEA), which is a multi-factor productivity measurement tool is generally used in assessing the relative efficiency of homogeneous units and setting benchmark for inefficient units. DEA is a methodology of comparing the relative efficiency of each decision making unit(DMU) by comparing it with other DMUs having similar input and output structure, and is specially very useful when a form of production function of each DMU such as a port is not known. DEA provides the extent of inefficiency of DMUs, which is practically useful information (like the efficiency score and reference sets) required to improve efficiency. DEA, a non-parametric productivity analysis tool, has become an accepted approach for assessing efficiency in a wide range of fields. Despite of its extensive applications, some features of DEA remain bothersome. DEA offers no guidelines to where relatively inefficient DMU(Decision Making Unit) improve since a reference set of an inefficient DMU consists of several efficient DMUs and it doesn't provide a stepwise path for improving the efficiency of each inefficient DMU considering the difference of efficiency. We aim to show that DEA can be used to evaluate the efficiency of Ports and suggest the methodology which overcomes the limitation of DEA through hybrid analysis utilizing DEA along with SOM.
A Electronic paper as a reflective display which is driven low power consumption by bistibility and is fabricated with low cost production equipments has been developed, although most display devices are developed mainly with emissive type. In this study we show the feasibility of extraction for the quantity of q/m which is one of the most important parameters in production from driving voltage, response time, and panel conditions. We show the relation between response time and driving voltage and estimate the particle state at each range. When the electric field over a driving voltage are biased, the kinetic energy increase, the particles crash into the electrode and induce bombardment with large energy, this bombardment decrease quantity of electric charge, and resultantly these processes force particle lumping, which are defined by kinetic principle.
The purpose of this study is to conduct content analyses to figure out current trends of social networking services studies and present the directions for the future research. This study analyzes 53 domestic studies and 10 international research based upon key words. The results indicate that SNS systems, web-site quality, communications, marketing and consumers' use motives are the main research topics. Prior research mainly put high priorities on systems and web-site qualities that are the main issues in the area of management information system. In contrast, marketing and consumers' use motives are the current issues. In the future besides management information system the studies on SNS should include more applied areas such as marketing, consumers' motives and other management topics.
Recently, computer vision system has being applied in face recognition, HCI(Human Computer Interface), context aware, and car system. Furthermore, as progress of car industry and technical, more and more systems have been developing for safety of drivers and passengers.
In this paper, for use in automotive safety systems that can recognize the user's eyes state is proposed methods. Face area receives image date and the eyes area is divided. And, in order to extract the eyes image areas using haar-like feature adaboost algorithm is used. Wavelet neural network to recognize eyes states (normal, wearily, sleepy) have been used and demonstrated its effectiveness through experiments.
CC(Common Criteria) requires to collect vulnerability information and vulnerability analysis by using penetration testing for evaluating IT security products. However, CC has been criticized from developers or QA managers due to its complexity of terms, abstract description of evaluation methods and non-existence of guidelines. In this paper, we propose a guideline of vulnerability assessment for developers and evaluators by analyzing and summarizing of its requirements and processes defined in CC. To do this, we classify the evaluation process of AVA assurance family into 4 parts and describe each evaluation working systematically unit under every steps.
This paper proposes a haptic interaction system for improving intellectual and sensory abilities of the developmental disabilities. More precisely, we developed embedded hardware devices and embedded software which generate the sense of sight, touch and hearing. The proposed system provides various stimulus including luminescence and temperature to improve self-initiative and creative learning of the developmental disabilities. In order to develop the system, first we analyze the characteristics of the developmental disabilities and then design a device controller that creates the sense of touch and temperature. Our system can be used for various applications for the developmental disabilities and can provide the opportunities disabled persons to access a lot of informations.
