AB - This paper is a research method that compares and examines the universal characteristics that appear in common even when there is no mutual influence or exchange between works of Oriental literature. The paper studied the works of Lao She and Hyun Jin-gun. In this comparative study, I focused on how tragic factors influenced the lives of women at that time, and intensively analyzed common motifs. In their respective works, Lao She and Hyun Jin-gun realistically portrayed the tragic life of a fragile woman with traditional values through 'I' born in an urban underclass and 'Shunyi', a woman from a rural poor farm.
