    A Study on the Dyeing Properties of Silk Fabrics Dyed with Impatiens balsamina extract(2)

    To study the dyeability(K/S value) and surface color of silk fabrics dyed with Impatiens balsamina extract, its flower, leaf and stem, was extracted by water.This paper investigated some experiments with Impatiens balsamina extract under the various dyeing conditions such as dyeing temperature, dyeing time, repetition of dyeing, dyeing pH with silk fabrics.The results obtained were as follows.1. It was found that λmax. of silk fabrics dyed with Impatiens balsamina extract was 260㎚ and its flower, leaf, stem and flowers(white, pink, violet) had same λmax at 260㎚.2. K/S value was increased when dyeing temperature, repetition of dyeing and time was higher, value of munsell of silk fabrics dyed with Impatiens balsamina extract was yellow-red. dyeing temperature, repetition of dyeing and time was higher, shifted to longer wavelength side.3. pH added acetic acid was colored reddish yellow-red, but pH added alum was colored yellowish yellow-red in silk fabrics dyed with Impatiens balsamina extract and repetition of dyeing was increased the dye-uptake.

    A Study of Dyeability at Low Temperature on the Ultra-microfiber

    This research aimed at scrutinizing the comparative dyeability of some disperse dyes at low temperature on ultra-microfiber polyester, islands in the sea type (0.05 denier), which has claimed utmost fastness and improved uptake of dyeing. Comparisons of dyeability, such as rate of dyeing and color depth, on ultra-microfiber polyester were evaluated by H.T. exhaust dyeing method and followed by the test of rubbing fastness. To achieve high wet fastness, some commercial disperse dyes, Terasil WW and Megacron dyes, which have been recently launched for excellent wash fastness, have been examined compared with conventional disperse dyes, C.I Disperse Red 167 and C.I Disperse Orange 30.

    Functional Improvement of Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Polarized Film by O2 Low Temperature Plasma Treatment

    In this research, we accomplished in order to improving color fastness of sublimation for Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-iodine polarized film. The poor iodine sublimation problem has greatly improved by O2 low temperature plasma treatment.We obtained the followings: (1) plasma treatment has contributed in adhesive ability via peel strength, AFM image and roughness were investigated, But the improvement in adhesive strength was not linearly proportional to the treatment time. (2) O2 plasma treated PVA-iodine polarized film was good enough as to maintain the transmittance and polarization even after iodine conc. of 0.05mol/L and dipping time of 50sec. (3) O2 low temperature plasma treated PVA-iodine polarized film has obtain high durability because of good adhesive strength.

    The Physical Properties of Sizing Yarn According to Sizing Condition

    Polyester fabrics, which is a major product in Daegu and Kyungbuk district, recently have a frequent warp streak phenomenon of sizing textiles for peach skin. So, this paper intensively focuses on the analysis of finding causes of poor products which may be produced in the process of sizing. Depending on the changes of sizing yarn's physical characteristic varying on sizing conditions, results of the research are as followed.1. Sizing add-on rate, following tension changes of originally supplied yarn in sizing, does not fluctuate until 30g sizing tension, but marks high on the increase of sizing speed. 2. Sizing add-on amount increases approximately by 2.5% when interlacing pressure is raised from 1.5kg/㎠ to 3.5kg/㎠ at 130℃ sizing temperature.3. Following the increase of sizing tension from 10g to 50g, boiling shrinkage rate of desizing yarn changes approximately from 7% to 11%. But the more sizing temperature and speed increases, the bigger the change rate becomes. 4. The thermal stress of desizing yarn is sensitively influenced by sizing tension in the sizing degree of above 130℃.5. The deviation rate of sizing yarn's initial modulus value, which is influenced by air pressure in interlacing raw yarn, marks the highest at 40g and 50g strength.

    A Study on the Physical Properties of DTY Composite Yarns Manufactured by Pin, Disk and Belt Texturing Systems

    This study surveys the physical properties of DTY composite yarns manufactured by pin, disk and belt texturing systems. For this purpose, 208d/36f POY PET and 40d/12f high shrinkable PET filaments are prepared for specimens. The composite yarns are manufactured with this texturized POY and high shrinkable PET filament using the pin, disk and belt type texturing machines. While the processing conditions of the pin and disk types texturing machines were fixed, those of a belt type texturing machine were varied with over feed to compare and analyze with the yarn physical properties of pin and disk type composite yarns.
