ABSTRACT

Objectives : This study was to investigate stability of spinal curvature and MMPI(The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) profiles in traffic accident patients. Methods : Total patients were classified into TA(traffic accident) inpatients and non-TA inpatients. We analyzed the characteristics of each group - age, sex, onset period, treatment period, angle of cervical curve and lumbar curve, lumbo-sacral angle and MMPI profiles. Results : 1. According to accidental type, mean of cervical angle is more low in TA Group. Means of lumbar angle and lumbo-sacral angle are more high in TA Group. But it was no significant difference. 2. According to accidental type, L, Hs, Pa profiles were high scores in TA Group. But it was no significant difference. 3. After multiple regression analysis in total patients, Accidental type was independently related with D profiles. Conclusions : On this study, there was no significantly difference in stability of spinal curvature according to accidental type. But, in multiple regression analysis on MMPI profiles, TA patient group was significantly related with D profiles.
