ABSTRACT

Objectives : This study was designed to elucidate the effects of Daeganghwal-tang(Daqianghuoshang) on the carrageenan-induced arthritis. Methods : Each of the 10 rats were classified into normal, control, sample group. Arthritis was induced by injecting 0.1㎖ of 1% carrageenan per rat in sample and control group. Daeganghwal-tang(Daqianghuoshang) was administered to sample group and normal saline was administered to normal and control group and then CRP, WBC, Neutrophil, Lymphocyte, Monocyte, Eosinophil, RBC, Platelets, Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, MCV, MCH, MCHC, SGOT, SGPT, LDH were measured. Results : In the sample group, the loss of body weight, edema rate of paw, skin temperature in edema, WBC, neutrophil, hematocrit, Hb, MCV, SGOT, LDH were significantly decreased as compared with those of control group. In the sample group, rectal temperature, lymphocytel, eosinophil, MCHC were significantly increased as compared with that of control group. Conclusions : According to the above results, it can be concluded Daeganghwal-tang(Daqianghuoshang) showed the treatment effects on the artificial arthritis resulted from carageenan in rats and it is suggested that more interest and study in the security for the clinical use were needed.
