ABSTRACT

This study investigated the current status and problems of medical librarian qualification system and measured medical librarians’ self-efficacy and self-esteem. 49.4% of the respondents acquired medical librarian qualification and 82.9% of them are willing to re-acquire the qualification. To obtain publishing activity point was the most difficult of all evaluation items. Average self-efficacy score was 3.42, and self-esteem score was 3.89, and women’s self-efficacy and self-esteem scores are higher than those of men. Medical librarian qualification system has been managed in a stable manner, yet the system has to be consolidated and developed into a national qualification system so that it can contribute to the improvements in proficiency of medical librarians.
