ABSTRACT

The decreasing competitiveness of local universities and public administration departments is not a temporary phenonenon but a changing trend of the 21 century society. In the future, the trend jeopardizes the existence of public administration departments, so the departments and the associations of public administration should find alternatives to enhance the comparativeness of public administration departments in local universities. For this purpose, this study designed a delphi study on the role of public administration scholars as well as the associations' efforts to increase the utility of public administration, promote citizens' perception and develop institutional and policy arrangements related to job searching opportunity for college graduate with public administration degrees. The study concludes that public administration education should not be sacrificed by economic logics but dealt as a public goods wherever the public administration departments are located.
