ABSTRACT

This study took a survey with the members of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster that participated in "Education on Citizen Corps Active In Disaster in Samcheok City in 2012," which was held by Samcheok City on April 9, 2012, in order to investigate ways to activate Citizen Corps Active In Disaster. The survey results led to the following ways to activate Citizen Corps Active In Disaster: first, it is necessary to reinforce the selection criteria when recruiting new members of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster; second, a policy should be implemented which will bring up core leaders of disaster prevention to lead the organization of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster; third, education and training should be reinforced by expanding the development and outsourced education of member-participatory educational programs for Citizen Corps Active In Disaster and promoting the participation of the executives of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster and selecting field-centric training events from the training planning stage for disaster training; fourth, it is required to expand administrative and financial support projects for Citizen Corps Active In Disaster, which in turn should secure the transparency and legitimacy of its projects; and finally, Citizen Corps Active In Disaster should consolidate its connections with local disaster organizations through frequent face-to-face contacts with them.
