AB - A dementia management service is provided in Korea under the Act on Dementia Control, the Act on Elderly Long Term Care Insurance, and the Law for Welfare of the Aged and the Health Care Law. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the service meets the various demands of the elderly with dementia and whether the related laws are executed in an interrelated manner. This study investigate the problems and possible solutions in a service delivery system. First, it propose to establish a service delivery system covering comprehensive elderly with dementia case management. Second, a multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional and community relevant service delivery system needs to be created. Third, as the lack of dementia care service providers gives negative influence to the quality of the service, it propose to cultivate managerial personnel in dementia care, both in health and welfare sectors, and encourage them to carry out their duties in a cooperative manner under a dementia care plan.
