ABSTRACT

This study analyzed the risks of indoor wires and wiring appliances by looking into statistical data, relevant laws, and actual conditions. In addition, it classified the components to find a failure mode with the use of the reliability evaluation software that can apply the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) technique, and drew a risk priority index and the degree of importance. Regarding the components of indoor wires and wiring appliances, their importance factors were panel, MCCB/ELB, connector, switch, outlet, plug, socket and electric wire, of which outlet, plug, electric wire and connector had the highest failure mode. In addition, it is found that the overheat induced by outlet overload caused an electric fire and increased electric disasters of indoor wires and wiring appliances. The study results are applicable to the fires with the risk of human disaster and the risk of life safety on household items.
