ABSTRACT

Social enterprise offers an efficient mechanism for the government to create jobs, yet its sustainability and performance have been its vital goal. This study aimed to examine the effect of social intelligence of employees of social enterprises(ESE) on job performance from the perspectives of human resource on job performance. We collected 210 surveys from 33 social enterprises located in Seoul metropolitan area, then conducted empirical analysis through multiple linear regression analysis. Results of the analysis revealed that, among the subcategories under the social intelligence of ESE, it was ‘social imformation processing’ factor that was proven to be effective on overall job performance, furthermore, we discovered that job performance was improved as the education, wage level or social skills were higher, or when the number of family members in the household was lower. This study was a preliminary exploration on how job performance was affected by social intelligence of ESE, which can be utilized as baseline data for human resource management in social enterprise.
