ABSTRACT

In a situation where the 4th industrial revolution and AI artificial intelligence are being discussed, creative problem-solving skills and cooperative skills are more important than ever. PBL is being actively adopted by elementary, middle, and high schools and universities because it fosters these skills. Dilemma problems in PBL are currently not treated as relatively important. PBL problems have the characteristics of unstructuredness, reality, relevance, and complexity. Dilemma problems receive high scores in unstructuredness and complexity, but are not actively utilized due to the evaluation that they lack reality and relevance. However, PBL dilemma problems satisfy the conditions in terms of reality and relevance depending on the situation. PBL dilemma problems play an important role in creating creative and integrated talents required by the 4th industrial revolution era that requires creativity. The movie <Special Security>, which features the trolley dilemma and a modified form of the trolley dilemma, shows various learning effects that can be obtained by solving PBL dilemma problems. Various dilemma situations that are not easy to solve provide simulation training so that students can wisely deal with various problems that they may face in reality. PBL's dilemma problems are very effective in training morality, ethics, and integrated thinking skills. PBL's dilemma problems improve not only creative problem-solving skills but also self-directedness, cooperation skills, and communication skills. Therefore, we should actively utilize PBL's dilemma problems in liberal arts education at universities to prepare for the new era of the 4th industrial revolution.
