ABSTRACT

This study analyzed responses from the "Prompt Contest" held in May 2024 to examine participants' prompting patterns. The analysis focused on prompts used during the process of reading and interpreting poems to propose themes, examining key aspects such as poem analysis, ChatGPT use, and participant feedback. The findings revealed that many participants relied on ChatGPT for poem analysis and theme suggestions, while only a few engaged in active prompting, such as training ChatGPT or critically responding to its outputs. Delegative prompting produced simpler themes, whereas active prompting led to more nuanced ones. This study examines the impact of generative AI on the reading process and explores its potential to support reader-driven reading practices, ultimately enhancing the reading experience.
