ABSTRACT

The author aims to analyze the central logic and issues of the projects promoted by the Chinese government following the Northeast Project and to offer several opinions on the liberal education of Chinese international students. The purpose is not to unilaterally criticize the problems of Sinocentrism, patriotism, and collectivism that have emerged from these projects to Chinese students. Rather, it is to understand the core content of China's historical and cultural projects that have influenced them and to guide them in developing critical thinking skills through university liberal education courses. In line with this intention, this paper first examines the theories and grounds that become issues in a series of projects and explores how they should be addressed within university liberal education courses.
