AB - This study investigated collection status, characteristics of their collections, and service of five institutions holding modern public records such as museums, archives and libraries in Korea. Investigation found out that most of them lack total catalog of their collections and provide limited on-line service. In addition, there was a case that one record group from the same provenance is separatedly preserved at two to three institutions. As a result of the investigation, it is suggested that cooperation among museum, archives, and research institutes will be necessary in order to arrange and use modern public records scattered in each institution.
