AB - Currently, not only central governmental agencies, but also local government started to hire records management professionals, and the records management became more systematic. This study tried to understand the current situation of local government's records management. Among the local governments' records management offices of in metropolitan area, i.e. Seoul, Gyonggi and Incheon where they hired records management professionals, 11 professionals were interviewed between September and October 2009. Based on the interview, the current situation and problems of the local government records management offices were identified in the areas of system related, administration related, and information service related. Suggestions for the improvement were proposed on those areas.
