AB - The purpose of the study is to evaluate Korean Records Management Metadata Standard with special emphasis on the contextual elements in their implementation aspect, and to provide the direction of the Standard revision for improving the metadata quality of RMS developed by National Archives of Korea. The present paper begins with comparing RMS data and the Standard elements, and examines the problems of current accumulation practices of contextual metadata elements in the RMS. Finally it makes some suggestions concerning the Standard revision as well as RMS function upgrade.
