Purpose: The purpose of this systematic literature review was to identify the contents and effects of Psychological First Aid (PFA) training for health personnel in previous studies. Methods: This study followed the guidelines of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). A systematic literature search was conducted using 10 electronic databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, CENTRAL, CINAHL, PsycINFO, RISS, KISS, KoreaMed, KMBASE, and NDSL. Search terms included ‘PFA’, ‘disaster psychosocial support’, ‘education’, ‘intervention’, and ‘health personnel’. Out of 390 studies retrieved, 8 studies were finally included in this systematic review. Quality of studies was assessed using the ROB-2 and RoBANS. Result: Studies reported PFA based on WHO manual and other useful strategies including case study, role-play, simulation with standardized patients (SP), application (app), web-based simulation and etc. Overall, studies reported significant improvement in PFA knowledge, performance competence, and self-esteem of health personnel. Limitations of the included studies included a lack of rigorous methodological research design and possibility of risk of bias. Conclusion: PFA training is useful in improving psychological intervention capabilities of health personnel in early disaster situations. These findings will serve as a foundation for the development of PFA training programs in Korean health care units and disaster preparedness institutes.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of grit, social support, and infectious disease risk perception on job satisfaction among newly commissioned ROK army officers. Methods: The study design was a descriptive correlational study. 169 officers participated in this study. Data were collected on grit, social support, infectious disease risk perception, and job satisfaction using an online survey. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and multiple regression using SPSS. Results: The job satisfaction was 3.73±0.92. The factors affecting on job satisfaction were social support, service plan: uncertain, grit, perceived health condition, and service plan: short-term. Conclusion: Promoting grit and social support should be recommended to improve the job satisfaction of Newly commissioned ROK army officers. Strategies to enhance grit for ROK army officers in their training period and programs to maintain the level of social support during their service term are suggested.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of soldier’s perception of the utility value in military life and Unit Environment (atmosphere and service conditions of military units) on military adaptation. Methods: This was a cross-sectional survey study, and recruited 397 participants from two army units. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from October to November 2020. The researcher used descriptive statistics, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis to analyze Data. Results: The perception of utility value in military life and the positive atmosphere of the unit could predict the military adaptation. And there was an moderating effect between the positive atmosphere of the unit and perception of utility value in military life. Conclusion: This study confirmed that the utility value in military life has a positive effect on military adaptation and that effect can be further increased by interacting with the positive unit atmosphere. Therefore, military units should strive to create an atmosphere of mutual trust in order to improve soldier's military adaptation, and instruct soldiers to appreciate the utility value of military life.
