ABSTRACT

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between individual characteristics and adaptation to the life at the Armed Forces Nursing Academy. Methods : The subjects of this study included 324 cadets enrolled at the AFNA at the time of the study. The survey was conducted using the adaptation assessment tool. The data were analysed through ANOVA. Results : The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. There were significant differences in adaptation scores according to grade in school, disciplinary performance and MBTI. 2. There were no significant differences in adaptation scores according to academic performance, religious affiliation or medical examination results. Conclusion : In conclusion, instructors and disciplinary officers should take students grade in school, disciplinary performance and MBTI into consideration when giving guidance to cadets on adapting to school life.
