ABSTRACT

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum at the Armed Forces Nursing Academy. The key purposes of the study can be summarized as follows; 1) to examine the philosophy of education, the educational goal and objectives using the DEI model; 2) to seek the needs and come up with specific tasks; 3) to develop the curriculum at the academy. Methods:An investigation was conducted through content analysis, interviews, and a survey of 180 military personnel including cadets, disciplinary officers, instructors, doctor officers, and nursing officers. Results:The result of the study can be summarized as follows; 1) The curriculum reflected the needs of the nation as well as the values and principles of the academy. 2) The educational goals were developed to meet the needs required of both officers and nurses. 3) The curriculum consisted of core liberal arts, basic, major field, military science, and military nursing. Conclusion:We should develop an objective assessment tool to evaluate the contents, operations, and results of the curriculum. Then, we should continuously assess the developed curriculum.
