ABSTRACT

Purpose : This study explores the status and the relationships among sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, awareness of gender equality and sexual autonomy of cadets. Methods : The study was conducted at a military academy in Korea from September to October 2014; total of 314 data were analyzed. Results : Cadets had rather high sexual knowledge as scores were 80.90, while their sexual attitude was considered relatively know with score of 35.84. The results of awareness of gender equality and sexual autonomy was 79.11 and 53.72, respectively, demonstrating relatively high identifications. These variables hints differences among grade, religion, and gender; they are significantly correlated to each other. According to the research, awareness of gender equality, sexual attitude, and sexual knowledge explains 16.2% of sexual autonomy status. Conclusion : In order to establish cadets' healthy perception on sexuality and have correct awareness of gender equality and sexual autonomy, an effective education shall be recommended.
