ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the 2050 mission, vision, strategies and tasks of education development for Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA). Methods: This study was conducted using literature review, panel interview, and delphi methods. We reviewed the vision of military agencies and universities. Panel interview was conducted by 10 professors and disciplinary personnel from October 2021 to January 2022. The interview results were analyzed using content analysis method. Delphi methods was performed twice by 15 experts from October 2022 to January 2023. Results: The results were as follows: 1) the mission is ‘to train elite nursing officers with the values and professional competencies required by the nation’, 2) the vision is ‘practical education that leads health security and protects the health of the people’, 3) the strategies are ‘well-prepared education system-implementation of future-oriented education paradigm’, ‘well-equipped educational environment-improvement of smart education infrastructure’, ‘happier educational culture-creating a climate of mutual respect’, and ‘education that creates social value-seeking education for public good’. 4) tasks includes 6 generic categories and 19 sub categories. Conclusion: It is necessary to establish specific goals by forming a roadmap for education development based on strategies and tasks. In addition, we suggest to conduct research on comprehensive evaluation including faculties and students to achieve future goal.
