ABSTRACT

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of video-based admission education on anxiety and education satisfaction of patients in ROK military hospitals. Methods: This study used a nonequivalent control group and non-synchronized post-test design. There were 128 patients who participated in this study. Among them, 64 subjects were in an experimental group and 64 subjects were in a control group. A video-based admission education program was provided to the experimental group, and admission education using brochure was provided to the control group. Data were collected from July to September, 2022. Data were analyzed by using SPSS program. Results: There was no significant differences between the experimental and the control group in anxiety (t=0.640, p=.523). However, we found significant differences in education satisfaction (t=3.635, p<.001) between the two groups. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that video-based admission education could be an effective intervention for patients and healthcare providers.
