ABSTRACT

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a health education program for military hospital employees. Methods: This study used the first three steps of the ADDIE model: analysis, design, and development. In the analysis step, the contents and methods of the health education program were analyzed using 21 literature reviews and focus group interviews with eight groups (totaling 20 participants), including the comprising managers, health managers, and employees of four military hospital, from May to June 2023. Based on the results of the analysis step, the draft program was drawn up in the design step. In the development step, six experts on military health management and education validated it. After the draft version was revised based on the validity review, the final version of the education program was confirmed. Results: The health education program for military hospital employees is divided into two categories: in-processing education and periodic education. The in-processing education is for new comers or staff members who took new jobs with position changes within the past month. The contents of the in-processing education are related to Act on Punishment of Severe Accidents, Occupational Safety and Health Act, health screening, and dealing with safety accidents. The periodic program is for all staff members who were working in the hospital. The main contents of the periodic program are general health education, infection control methods, and specialized education for each department. Conclusion: This study developed a validated health education program for military hospital employees. It is necessary to streamline the program's detailed contents and evaluate its effect.
