ABSTRACT

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of nursing informatics competency and clinical decision-making ability on nursing performance among military hospital nurses. Methods: Data were collected through an online survey conducted from April 24 to May 30, 2025. A total of 127 clinical nurses with more than one year of experience working at four military hospitals participated in the study. Results: Nursing performance showed a statistically significant positive correlation with nursing informatics competency (r=.64, p<.001) and clinical decision-making ability (r=.52, p<.001). Nursing performance was significantly predicted by work place (β=.18, p=.027), nursing informatics competency (β=.49, p<.001), and clinical decision-making ability (β=.36, p<.001), with these variables collectively explaining 49% of the variance. Conclusion: To improve nursing performance in military hospitals, it is essential to strengthen nurses’ informatics competency and decision-making ability through organizational support and targeted training
