AB - Founded in 1963. ‘Jeonwi Mudae' is the oldest drama company among other drama companies which are producing now in Pusan. When it was founded, the situation of the theater in Pusan was that there wasn't any stages to play and any income from drama playing. But even in this situation, the members of 'Jeonwi Mudae’founded the drama company resolving to play a drama like a drama.
In this research, the history of performance of 'Jeonwi Mudae' from 1963 to1978 is divided into three parts. Threr are the time when the theater played under the name 'Jeonwi Mudae’. the time of 'Soguekjang 69' when the drama actors of Pusan joined and played, and the time they played under the name 'Jeonwi Mudae’again along with the opening of the Pusan Civic Center. The drama actors of Pusan joined in 'Soguejang 69' but 'Jeonwi Mudae’was very active with 'Soguekjang 69' as the central figure.
Evern though almost of the theater companies was broken up after just once or twice performances, 'Jeonwi Mudae' had worked steadily and it is working actively now too. For the first time in the history of drama company in Pusan, it played a drama by Art and Literature Promotion Foundation in 1975. It made the first performance that never had been played in Pusan before and also it played drama in translation by itself. It gave variety to stage playing in an amphitheater and it played in a grand hall too. We can say it is in the center of development of the Pusan theater because it has tried the variety ways again and again.
