AB - The purpose of this paper is to examine closely the text's strategies of the drama Welcome to Dongmakgol. The Drama with a hypertext availability Welcome to Dongmakgol has made a popular success through the transition to movies. So, this study is projected for comparison with the film Welcome to Dongmakgol. Therefore three aspects of the text's strategy will be discussed.
First, arts feature of anti-illusionism as of self-reflection is to have shed new light on the stylistic characteristics. Second, this study focus on the strategy of building of the character's personality and creation of comedy. Finally, the shelter's metaphor of dongmakgol and a sense of utopia is to identify The drama Welcome to Dongmakgol build up self-reflection by the appropriation of Brecht's epic theater and insertion of meta-theatre stylistically. In addition, the dramatic narrative has been generated by method of faction Which is the contemporary tendential storytelling of historical story. In other words, the story of father(Dong-gu) and the story of the epic narrator(the artist) is combined through self-contemplation.
The following is the text's strategy of creation of comedy. the gestus which is social attitude and hamartema that is characteristic flaws are primary method in creation of comedy through character cultivation. and then the deviation from context which is beyond the expectations horizon of the audience is the text's strategy of creation of comedy. a strategy that violates the norms generated the comedy also.
Finally, dongmakgol closed and isolated by mountains acquires symbol of shelter that retain warm hospitality and family atmosphere such as take care of home ventilation in the archetypal home. Therefore the amplification of these archetypal home consciousness creates a sense of the similar utopia .
