AB - Ban Lee writes the religious drama as well as drama on the division of Korea. His religious drama is affected by the contemporary movement in religious drama in 20th century and sets the model of contemporary religious drama in Korea, treating various social problems, not confined to biblical events. This paper studies two religious drama of Ban Lee, Ah, Jeamliyeo! and Haneul, Baram, Beyol, grigo Hak. These plays treat the conflict of Korea and Japan. Ah, Jeamliyeo! treats the slaughter of the innocent people in Jeamli in 1919, but keeps distance from the event through various dramaturgical techniques. Haneul, Baram, Beyol, grigo Hak makes the relation of Korea and Japan see in a different way through the conscientious Japanese people in Japanese colonial time. Theme of these plays can be summed up like this: not to evade other's agony, to take responsibility of them, and the real freedom and peace will be realized in the end. It is no other than the christian vision. Haneul, Baram, Beyol, grigo Hak reveals this theme can be applied to the various kinds of conflicts in the world, including the conflict of South and North Korea. How to reconcile the conflict between South and North Korea is tried, but is not fully completed in Ban Lee's drama on the division of Korea. On the other hand, it is achieved in the religious drama. This is another example of the unification of the motif of the division of Korea and that of religion. And it also reveals the importance of the christian vision in Ban Lee's whole drama.
