ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to increase training methods and to professionalize education of the art of acting by analyzing the concept and principle of the actor's tempo and rhythm on stage, and also the movement of the actor. Stanislavsky's method of acting has been constantly researched by large population. However, the method of acting have been approached mainly on acting only, it was not easy for an actor to apply the method realistically on stage. As Stanislavsky claimed, there is an unbreakable tie between human soul and body, therefore, we need to find a way to realistically experiment true emotion and feeling through physical action. Through this article I would like to introduce Stanislavsky's method of acting, with a main focus on tempo and rhythm training method from on -stage acting. To be realistically effective in tempo and rhythm training, we also need to consider how to focus on training and how to form the actual training. The author wishes that this research will not end just as a theory, but will be evaluated and used for actual acting training method. Also, the author knows that tempo and rhythm training for actors will help open up emotion and feelings, and will help increase creative expressions.
