ABSTRACT

In North Korea, Dansimjul and The pride of 13 provinces of 'Revolutionary Dance' are evaluated as 'the immortal classical masterpiece' created by Kim, Il-sung. However, recently music-drama Yeolsejib estimated as their original work is discovered. So we have to study of relations among these works. Firstly, in this study we found out about some similarities of basic composition among these works. But we also found out about differences of characters and theme among them. Secondly, we found out that music-drama Yeolsejib by Kim, Hyun-soon was spread to Manchuria and North Korea and it was recreated as Dansimjul and The pride of 13 provinces of 'Revolutionary Dance'. And Kim, Il-sung took a role as a messenger in that process. This study concluded that Dansimjul and The pride of 13 provinces of 'Revolutionary Dance' are not Kim, Il-sung's creative works but an alternate version of music-drama Yeolsejib.
