AB - In Robot Taekwon V, giant robot is hero that human board at the first time on Korea feature animation history. Robot is the most important function through this work. Especially, when focus on relationship with discourse that mainly discussed in Korea 1970’, robot is not a simple machine that has more meaning in Robot Taekwon V. It had strongly supported the development discourse in South Korea after the Korea war instilled a sense of mission that South Korea must be developed countries. Korea is pursuing fast economic growth through exports and recognized as a model for developed countries the United States. So It accepted the civilization surrounded by automated machines in the conditions of developed countries. In this sense , the meaning of the robots are found as a symbol of a better life than household appliances. Robot taekwon V imagines the future of Korea to defend the world from the ranks of the developed countries around the figure of giant robot Taekwon V and android Mary, satisfies the contemporary South Koreans who want to become an advanced country. In particular, the romantic narrative of android Mary's longing for humanity and Giant Robot Taekwon V’s didactic morality was able to accept naturally the contemporary development discourses. In this sense, this work is the material that means you have to understand the developmentalism discourses have penetrated in any way for viewers of popular culture.
