ABSTRACT

The filmmaking of the ‘Geugyeon’ is to operate the play as a professional theater. This is influenced by Japan's Shinkyougekidan. Murayama Tomoyoshi's Shinsengumi shows the purpose of Shinkyo's filmmaking. Shinsengumi deals with the tragic collapse of Shinsengumi, the escort warrior of the Edo Bakuhu. Shinsengumi was opposed to the Meiji Restoration. And Shinsengumi's tragedy revealed the negative side of 'Meiji Restoration'. The scenarios were constructed in ways that reveal the problems of the times while using interesting materials. Dosaenglog(Yoo Chi-Jin's scenario) is a creation that deals with the tragedy of the family following the changes of the times. A father sold his daughter because of poverty and foolish greed. This is a story of a father being frustrated when he tries to correct his daughter's misery. The author evokes interest through the marriage of the protagonist's daughter. The cause of the tragedy was to reveal the problems of the contemporary society. Through this, the artist showed fun and critical mind at the same time.
