ABSTRACT

This paper is an attempt to observe the musical as a youth theme, and to observe the entire activities of the musical enthusiasts on the Yeonmugal platform in order to observe the musical enthusiasts who are increasingly influential in the Korean musical market over time, and to find out where they overlap with the general tendencies of the 20-30s MZ generation. To understand the worldview of the Yeonmugal platform, three criteria are applied: First, compared to PC communication online clubs in the 1990s, enthusiasts gathered on the Yeonmugal platform thoroughly as a community of tastes and emotions and have a principle of working on the premise of equal relationships. Second, the political and cultural experiences accumulated in the activities of Yeonmugal strengthen the belief in correctness in their actions and judgment, which easily leads to opposition to the performance based on political correctness and fairness. Finally, the Yeonmugal enthusiasts expand the narrative of the performance and distinguish Muggles from Mudoks through collective actions that make up the worldview, and reveal their identity most strongly. Watching a show repeatedly is an essential condition for this, and the process of sharing daily theatrical content to fill the gaps and deficiencies in the narrative together is key to maximizing the pleasure of fandom activities. Through analysis by these criteria, we observe the way in which Yeonmugal enthusiasts perceive the entire fandom activity as a performing act in a community of tastes and emotions and desire its practical influence.
