ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to suggest the direction of arms control of WMD in the Korean Peninsula. The two Koreas also carried out the improvement of inter-Korean relations and rudimentary arms control. However, North Korea declared itself as a nuclear power state, and with a large amount of chemical and biological weapons, North Korea has declared a new path and is facing a new phase in security on the Korean Peninsula. For this purpose, the adequacy of the arms control theory was examined, and the propulsion plan and the method for confidence building that applied the essential difference between conventional arms control and weapons of mass destruction weapons were proposed. The way to confidence building is to actively identify means that can be used as sanctions and leverage in building, guaranteeing, verifying. And in order to control WMD, it is necessary to promote WMD using international regimes.
