'Korean Language & Literature' is an academic organization that started with Korean language and literature researchers in Jeollabuk-do. It was established in 1965 with the aim of promoting research on Korean language and literature in the region. It was formed as a comprehensive academic organization of Korean literature representing the region by integrating small academic gatherings in the form of seminars held by researchers or in detailed fields of Korean literature at that time.

By gathering and discussing together, more researchers in the region have held academic conferences every year and published a regular journal <Korean Language Literature>, aiming to boost academic exchanges and deepen and expand the achievements of academic research. In particular, the academic conference held once a year and the journal <Korean Language Literature>, which was published once a year, are now holding national conferences and publishing journals twice a year due to the development of the conference. Moreover, the academic journal "Korean Language Literature" is being published three times a year in accordance with the resolution of the 2015 regular general meeting.

Korean Language & Literature is in line with the establishment goal, researchers from various departments related to Korean language and literature in Jeollabuk-do Province take turns in charge of each executive branch, which contributes to the participation of researchers in the region and to the exchange and revitalization of research. Of course, it is strengthening its status as a nationwide society representing the region while maintaining balance within and outside the society by evenly engaging senior and emerging researchers from academia across the central and other regions.

Korean Language & Literature has played a major role in discovering, introducing, and researching local Korean language and literature assets along with general research on Korean language and literature. However, in the future, the government has decided to continue to make efforts for the social responsibility and spread of academic studies by strengthening solidarity with various political, economic, social, cultural organizations and researchers in the region.
