AB - This study analyzes the Husaengrok and its writer, Haksan Sin Don-bok. The major findings are as follows:
(1) Only the second volume of the Husaengrok originally compiled into two volumes has been handed down as a manuscript.
(2) The preface of the Husaengrok is contained on the 15th volume of the Jisujaejip by Jisujae Yu Cheok-gi(1691-1767).
(3) The author of the Husaengrok is Haksan Sin Don-bok(1692-1779), and it is presumed to be published between 1760 and 1767 during the reign of King Yeongjo (1760-1767) in the Joseon Dynasty.
(4) The second volume of the Husaengrok consists of about 103 titles and 395 entries, and contains 58 books cited 322 times.
(5) Various techniques of casting movable types included in the Husaengrok are applied to study the techniques of printing with movable types.
