ABSTRACT

1) At the present it is impossible to conduct a scientific analysis of functional additives contained in ink traces on metal type edition. 2) Components of chinese ink for metal type edition: Oil soot carbon, 5% of glue as the solvent material and functional additives are included. 3) Types and proportion of functional additives in chinese ink for metal type edition: 10% of grain paste or glue were effective. 4) Proportion of components in chinese ink for metal type edition: Combining the mixture of 5-10% of oil soot carbon and 90-95% of solvent material with functional additives in a ratio of 1 to 1 was effective for chinese ink. 5) The importance of functional additives: Functional additives were far more important than soot carbon in chinese ink for metal type edition, and glutinous rice paste was most effective as the functional additive.
