A Hierarchical Study on Archives of Successful Applicants for Medical Field in Chosun Period

ABSTRACT

This study was performed for the purpose of investigation and hierarchical study of on archives related to successful applicants for medical science major in Chosun times. This study briefly reviewed on the types of archives related to persons of medical science such as list of successful applicants for medical science, Palsebo, Seonsaengan, and Seongwonrok and investigated the edition of hereditary texts of successful applicants for medical science including newly-found printed books of successful applicants for single subjects and single sessions. And this study made comparison between successful applicants for single subjects and single exam sessions in terms of structure, formation, and contents as well as the comparison between the list of successful applicants for medical science of wood-printed type and hand-written manuscripts. Furthermore, this study proved they are archives on the successful applicants for medical science though the comparison between Euigwa Bangmok and Euigwa Seongsaengahn. Based on the above-mentioned investigations and analyses, this study drew the hierarchical relationship between the archives on the successful applicants such as the list of successful applicants for single subjects and single sessions, the list of successful applicants for medical science of single subject in the form of wood-printed type and hand-written manuscripts and Euigwa Seonsaengan etc. This study suggested the steady research for the list of successful applicants for single session because the basis for the list of successful applicants for single subject is that of successful applicants for single session. And it also recommend the posterior studies and research for archives related to middle men of Chosun period through steady excavation, investigation, and research.
