AB - Dongmongseonseup has been known as the representative children’s textbook published by private initiative in Chosun Dynasty. Considering the significant value as the independent textbook for the children published by a domestic scholar, however, it seemed to be treated carelessly compared to the other children’s books such as ‘Thousand-Character Classic,’ ‘Classic of Filial Piety,’ and so on. This might be resulted from unrevealed aspects of the book in terms of cultural history including the process of its publication, publisher, system, type, transition, distribution, and so on so far. In this article, several points were reviewed to be treated or supplemented newly in view of bibliography upon confirmation of the evidence for the distribution of early Chosun edition in addition to the woodblock-printed book of Dongmongseonseup or author related contents reviewed in the previous bibliographical studies, as follows. First, it was found that Dongmongseonseup had been wood-blocked, printed, and distributed at least before February 1547 from the records of the document that was sent to Baek Woon Dong Private School. Second, upon the supplementary review result of the author theory with An Kook Kim referring to the data that were not reviewed in the past, the background that An Kook Kim was described as the author of Dongmongseonseup in the preface and the main contents of Daedong Woonboo Goonok by Moon Hae Kwon might be the error from the process transited from the transcribed copies into the woodblock editions. Third, the edition possessed by Jangseogak was assumed to be produced since nineteenth century from the bibliographical historical investigation for copied edition of Dongmongseonseup in Jangseogak. Fourth, the publication period of Dongmongseonseup in Choonbang edition was determined by the analysis of Ganyuk Diary. These studies seem to be the evidences to be able to approach Dongmongseonseup in view of cultural history in the future.
