AB - Generally, people have a wrong understanding that socialist states do not have land expropriation and compensation system. However, after the building of new China in 1949, China has been a lot of laws concerning land expropriation and compensation. By the way, China has sped up the urbanization by rapid economic development. A process of urbanization, the government was in need of great developable land. In order to obtain urban land, the government has implemented various measures, including land expropriation. At present, China's land expropriation and compensation is carried out following the provisions of the related laws. But China's land expropriation and compensation has to improve in a great deal. In particular, compensation system needs an urgent readjustment in accordance with international standard. Providing an example of Korea's case makes it easier to understand China's system in this paper. In the process of the analysis, this paper has treated the subject and procedure of land expropriation for the first time. This paper attempts to clarify the problems of China's land expropriation and compensation system, and suggests that should improve them.
