AB - Water-friendly spaces in national river are designated places by the Government to provide rest and leisure to public.
For efficient designation, maintenance, and management of them, it is necessary to calculate the economic value of each water-friendly space. This study calculated the economic value of 297 water-friendly spaces nationwide by combining the number of actual visitors derived from Mobile Bigdata analysis and the willingness-to-pay(WTP) of each household derived by the survey conducted for this study and contingent valuation method. The estimated result for annual WTP per household for the neighborhood-type was 9,774 KRW and 5,806 KRW, and for the community hub-type, it was 8,452 KRW and 5,398 KRW, within and outside the local administrative boundary respectively. By combining this result and the number of visitors of each water-friendly space derived from the Mobile Bigdata analysis, the median annual economic benefit for each water-friendly space was calculated as 33.7M KRW for the community hub-type and 21.1M KRW for neighborhood-type.
