AB - This study examines the effects of Teacher Librarian-led integrated instruction combining the courses Ecology and Environment and Library and Information Life on high school students’ information literacy within the High School Credit System. The participants were 20 first-year students at K High School in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, who completed a 32-session integrated instruction program. A one-group pretest-posttest design was employed to analyze changes in students’ information literacy. The assessment instrument consisted of 22 items across five domains—information seeking and access, analysis and interpretation, synthesis and application, presentation and communication, and information evaluation—based on the achievement standards of Library and Information Life. The results revealed a statistically significant improvement in overall information literacy following the integrated instruction, with all subdomains also showing significant gains from pre- to post-test. These findings demonstrate that Teacher Librarians can independently design and implement integrated instruction that effectively combines subject content with information literacy processes, distinguishing this study from prior research focused primarily on cooperative teaching models. This study contributes to reinforcing the role of Teacher Librarians as curriculum designers and leaders capable of leading project-based and multidisciplinary learning required by the High School Credit System.
