AB - This paper can begin from conceptual analysis of ‘community’. This paper examines, In particular, concept of ‘biotic community’. We steadily realize that our misuse of environment can come home to roost. Not only nonhuman life forms are endangered, but also human life is threatened. However, some of us do not regard the future so pessimistically. Before it is too late, concept of ‘biotic community’ might be developed. And then, enlightened principles of biotic community might still be discovered. Accordingly, the future that pessimists foresee can be avoided. But possibly only then. Proponents for concept of ‘biotic community’ consider all life organism to be intrinsically valuable. Since concept of biotic community attachs standing to ecosystems, it is sometimes labeled ‘theory of ecosystem’. Therefore, in this paper, I examine a basis of concept of ‘biotic community’.
