Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the relevance of Sasang constitution, Qi Blood pattern identification, and tongue diagnosis in subjects complaining of fatigue. Methods Seventy-three subjects who complained of fatigue were assessed using the Chalder Fatigue Scale, tongue diagnosis, pattern identification questionnaire and Sasang constitution diagnosis. The association of tongue diagnosis with Qi Blood pattern identification and Sasang constitution was evaluated. Results 1. There was no significant association between tongue diagnosis and Sasang constitution. 2. Tongue color, which is one of the diagnostic indicators in tongue diagnosis, was redder in the Qi stagnation group than in the Qi deficiency and Blood deficiency groups. Conclusions Tongue diagnosis can be utilized in future if proper research regarding Sasang constitution and Sasang constitution pattern identification is conducted.

Objectives To grasp the trend of constitution medical industry related to the metabolic disorders by analyzing the web resource. Methods Web search with the search formula (“constitutional” or “spirit”) and (“Metabolic” or “diabetes” or “high blood pressure” or “hyperlipidemia” or “obesity”) for 20 years (1995.09.10 ~ 2015.09.09.) in the web portal address “http://web.search.naver.com”. Results In the search area of news, blogs, cafes and knowledge-in, the number of searched pages retrieved by the word “constitution” was about 1.78 million. In the news 9760 cases of “obesity”, 4046 cases of “hypertension” and 3253 cases of “diabetes” were searched. In Naver Web search Korean medicine clinics related to “constitution” were 24.3%. If we multiple 25.3% to 1000, the actual number of herbal hospitals, The constitution related to Korean medicine clinics is estimated to be approximately 3160 places. Among metabolic disorders, “Overweight”, “Diabetes” and “Hypertension” were most frequently searched. Conclusions Constitutional industry related to metabolic diseases is very actively created on the internet in various areas. Among metabolic diseases, obesity, diabetes, hypertension were found with high frequency.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of each Soyang constitutional Exterior and Interior disease's favorable-unfavorable pattern using the Temperament and Character Inventory(TCI) in a Korean adult clinical sample. Methods A total of 32 subjects(age 20-49) completed the Korean version of the TCI. A Sasang Constitutional Medicine specialist determined each subject's Sasang constitutional type based on the Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Diagnosis(QSCC∥) and comprehensive constitutional assessment. The participants consisting of 15 favorable pattern, 17 unfavorable pattern. Results Among the four temperament dimensions, the favorable pattern showed significantly higher scores than the unfavorable pattern in Novelty Seeking(NS) and Reward Dependence(RD). Among the three character dimensions, the unfavorable pattern showed significantly higher score than the favorable pattern subjects in Self-Directedness(SD). Conclusions Differences in temperament and character were discovered across the Soyang Constitutional disease's Exterior and Interior disease's favorable-unfavorable pattern.
